Arsenal Gallery Hall of Arms

The Event Space located in the heart of the Arsenale, called Arms Rooms, consists of two large two-storey buildings, with 3 and 4 rooms.

The original nucleus of the Arms Rooms dates back to around 1460, when it was used as a depot of arms of the Serenissima but also as a representative space during the visit of particularly illustrious guests.

Some rooms were in fact decorated with the weapons of the Venetian Republic. Together with the adjacent building of the Artillery, the Arms Rooms were the symbol of Venice's war power on land and sea.

Access to this sector took place exclusively through the monumental passage attributed to Sanmicheli, built around 1560 to separate this strategic sector from the other areas of the Venice Arsenal.
