EcomoMuseum of Mortigliengo - Mino Home

The Mortigliengo Ecomuseum - Mino Home is a museum with many stories to tell and listen to ...
A lesson in sustainable economy from the past, thinking about the future.

The charm of Casa Mino will be revealed in the typical Mortigliengo production activities, always in close connection with the home.

An indissoluble synergy between Man, Environment, Economy, Culture, Resources, Territory, Space, Nature and Architecture that will conquer you.

The ecomuseum has an architectural structure typical of the Mortigliengo area: open central courtyard, long and narrow building with several floors with attic, large balconies, small rooms, cellar and barn on the ground floor.

Each room contains objects, textiles, souvenirs, furnishings, documents, photographs, equipment and machinery used in local economic activities - hemp, walnut, chestnut, grapevine, apples, carpentry, traditional construction, textiles, livestock and subsistence agriculture - which tell the story of history of Mortigliengo and Biellese.

An exciting diary of our 3D history that leads the visitor to learn about the textile processing of hemp, the transformation of walnuts into oil and apples into precious white vinegar and the chestnut civilization. Each room contains the knowledge of the territory and tells how the circular and sustainable economy has always been the basis of small rural communities.

Casa Mino is the center of a small hamlet that is closely connected to the wood, which is its natural frame and the very essence of the vitality of the community in its past and present. A magical place where you can lose yourself in the footsteps of time with an eye to the future.

The Museum is open by appointment and for events and educational proposals for schools.
