Palermo Cathedral, which is part of the Arab-Norman itinerary which also includes the Cathedral of Cefalù, the Cathedral of Monreale, the Palazzo della Zisa in Palermo, the church of San Giovanni degli Eremiti and the Palazzo dei Normanni (UNESCO heritage).
The Primatial Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Virgin Mary of the Assumption, known simply as the Cathedral of Palermo, is the main place of Catholic worship in the city of Palermo and the bishop's seat of the homonymous metropolitan archdiocese.
