The Historical Archive is an institution that is fully part of the life of the city, and allows scholars, researchers and history buffs to view the copious documentation kept in it and dating back to the second half of the fifteenth century.
The paper documentation, which has survived the human vicissitudes and bombings, accompanies, albeit with various gaps, almost entirely the historical path of Taormina from the fifteenth century. to date, and allows the discovery of very precious elements on the evolution of Taormina's society.
The Historical Archive is, together with the Civic Library, essential to trace the roots of the community that made Taormina its cradle, and to find the news of a vast territory of which the city was the center of greatest interest, and which placed it as active protagonist in the history of Sicily
