The New Bergamo Fairgrounds is a facility designed to host mainly exhibition events of the industrial, artisan, agricultural and service sectors, but also conference events promoted by or related to the economic and/or cultural realities of the Bergamo province.
History:
The St. Alexander's Fair was an important point of trade and commerce that took place on St. Alexander's meadow from the 10th century, from August 22, the time when the feast day of the city's patron saint fell-hence the name-until September 8, and was located in the lower part of the city of Bergamo attracting traders and patrons from distant locations each year, while the remaining period was grazing meadow for livestock.
Donizetti Theater-1897 The fair suffered a sharp decline in the mid-19th century, the one that was revived in 2003 has a purely agricultural aspect, with livestock exhibits, agricultural machinery, food and wine products and innovations always related to the world of agriculture, which I want to bring attention back to the farming world and its enhancement.
