Gallerie D'Arte Calcagno, derives its name from its founder Santo Calcagno, who inaugurated the same in 1974, when, still a boy, opened two stores, one located in Via San Giuliano and the other, still today the reference point for art lovers, located in Viale Jonio, a very central area of Catania, behind Corso Italia, renowned for the presence of the most important griffes of every sector.
Many are the elements that, over forty years of activity, have made the Gallerie D'Arte Calcagno, an internationally recognized reality.
The love, passion, dedication and professionalism of the founder and later of his wife Nadine, have certainly been the salient and ever-present ingredients in this long journey, but to these, we must add, a remarkable and far-sighted work, directed not only to the contingent artistic trends or fashions, certainly less risky from a merely commercial point of view, but, oriented to the experimental promotion of new forms of art, and, associated with it, to a daily commitment to the customer, educating him, through the transmission of an adequate artistic-cultural background, to the cult of beauty also from a technical and objective point of view.
A singular role, which also contributes to the prestige of Calcagno Galleries, is certainly played by its intense and long-standing exhibition activity.
