Thapsos (ΘαψÏŒς in ancient Greek) is one of the most important Sicilian protohistoric sites.
It is the eponymous center for the so-called Culture of Thapsos which in Sicily identifies the Middle Bronze Age.
The site is located on the Magnisi peninsula (from the Arabic Mismar, nail), in the municipality of Priolo Gargallo, in the province of Syracuse.
