Party and Entertainment Pavilion

The Party Pavilion, built between 1936 and 1941 under the direction of Tito Chini, represents the Art Déco monument par excellence with its liberty style finishes and decorations and original majolica.

The architecture of the Pavilion is typical of rationalism that has its historical roots in the last century, a period in which a well-defined artistic and architectural language flourishes in Italy.

The Pavilion was conceived in Castrocaro as a continuous space to be experienced in an explosion of light and color.

Built in a traditional way with widespread use of brick, the main framework is essentially made up of a series of frames that have the generic scheme of the "theatrical portal".

Of great interest are the heating systems, a true masterpiece of Diego Corsani, which made it possible to use the structure even in the winter months.

In the entrance, immersed in an explosion of light, the motif of the circle is perpetuated from the design of the floor to the ceiling which in turn closes in a light dome through three concentric bands surrounded by as many circles of light that enliven the elegant contrast of white and gold tones of the constellations and zodiac signs.

The large circular ceramic panel of the floor is surrounded by bands of marble that bear the theme of the amphora. On the sides of the entrance there are two corridors that have the preciousness of two caskets enclosed by golden walls. On the ground floor the bar once decorated with a panel depicting the harvest and the joys of the countryside. At the side of the bar, the smoking room with decorative themes alluding and playful to love and pleasure. The next room is the reading room with rural landscapes and decorations on the ceiling. Lastly, the game room that closes the sequence of leisure and rest environments. Tito Chini proposed the theme of playing cards along the entire surface of three walls. On the opposite side of the large entrance hall is the billiard room.

Today the Party Pavilion is a culturally rich space of initiatives and exhibitions able to combine well-being and art for guests but also benefit those who want to visit this architectural jewel. The real flagship of the structure, surrounded by the greenery of the park, it can accommodate up to 400 seats, plus an audience, and can be structured in several rooms. Equipped with a stage and a 30 m2 screen, it is suitable for conventions, congresses, banquets, fashion shows, exhibitions, cultural events.

Beatrice Sansavini is responsible for the cultural activities of the Party Pavilion.
