Palace Of Exhibitions

The Palace of Exhibitions is composed of two structures connected by a low covered passage.

Access to the exhibitions is located in the smaller structure, equipped with a large and well-signaled cantilevered canopy.

The larger structure constitutes the actual exhibition space, spanning three levels.

The overall design is geared towards multifunctionality: the smaller pavilion, covering approximately 400 sq. meters, is intended for small exhibitions, meetings, and conferences, while the larger one, around 2,500 sq. meters, is a versatile exhibition space that can also be used for other events.

The building enjoys ample parking space, a necessity given its relatively peripheral location.

Additionally, pedestrian access is provided from the Lungo Ticino.

The proximity to the river and its environmental values stimulates interest in redeveloping the surrounding area, aiming to create a virtuous system that enhances the overall attractiveness of the venue.

The facade, characterized by tall and slender pillars, rises in height above the rest of the structure, concealing the curved roof of the exhibition hall.

An elevated outdoor gallery overlooks the main entrance.

Special attention is paid to solar orientation, controlled by sunshades and tall windows to avoid direct exposure of the interior spaces, considering the specific purpose of the building.

The presence of large, appealing windows that bring in brightness is tempered by the balanced alternation of solid surfaces that form the exhibition envelope.

Despite its design dating back over fifty years, the Palace of Exhibitions remains a significant resource as a venue for events spanning various themes, from art to food culture, from antiques to weddings, continuing to play a concrete role in the urban context.
