Ethno-Anthropological Museum - Antonio Uccello House Museum

The House Museum is the result of the passion and commitment of Antonino Uccello, a passionate student of Sicilian popular culture who has spent over thirty years collecting and studying oral traditions, objects and work tools of the disappearing peasant civilization.

This precious ethnographic material, together with a collection of paintings on glass, crib figurines, posters of the opera dei pupi and other objects, was placed by Uccello inside a sumptuous eighteenth-century residence of the Ferla-Bonellis, who bought specifically for this purpose.

The result is a real ethno-anthropological museum, animated by the scholar with continuous cultural activities that recreate the real and magical atmosphere of ancient crafts and traditions that have now disappeared.

The reconstruction of the "casa ri stari", the "casa ri massaria", the "maiazzè" and the mill is particularly fascinating, as is the collection of Sicilian ceramics, including spoons, wooden ladles, religious objects, sacred images, toys , Sicilian puppets and cribs.
