The Hanging Gardens of Babylon

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon are considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

According to tradition, they were built around 590 BC. by King Nebuchadnezzar II, in the ancient city of Babylon, near present-day Baghdad. However, some historians are not sure of their location, or even of their real existence.

The question of the location of the gardens is still unresolved today and the studies, still in progress, have allowed the most varied hypotheses to emerge, including the one that Babylon did not host at all one of the 7 Wonders of the ancient world, since the ancient sources, while agreeing in the description of the gardens, they do not provide any precise location within the city.
