Commendatore Santo Spirito In Sassia Palace

The Commendatore's Palace, 16th century extension of the Hospital Complex of Santo Spirito in Saxia in Rome, was built during the pontificate of Pius V and was dedicated to Monsignor Bernardino Cirillo, commander from 1556 to 1575, considered one of the most famous commendators of the Institute.

The palace winds around a quadrangular courtyard bordered by a double loggia, with arches supported by columns whose capitals are of Doric order for the lower loggia and of Ionic order for the upper one.

The most prestigious of the rooms is certainly the ballroom, known as the Commendatore Hall.
