House of Fascism - Terragni Palace

The building, considered the absolute masterpiece of Italian rationalism, was designed by Giuseppe Terragni in 1932 - 36.

Inaugurated in 1936, the building was used as the seat of the National Fascist Party until 1945, when the city of Como was liberated from the fascist regime.

The Casa del Fascio was used by the parties of the National Liberation Committee until 1957, when the Command of the VI Legion of the Guardia di Finanza took office, which still occupies it today.

The building has a square plan and has four floors, the first of which is raised above the level of Piazza del Popolo.

Due to its high historical and artistic interest, the Casa del Fascio was subjected to a restriction in 1986 by the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage.
