Venice Pala Expò

The 10,000 square meter exhibition hall is located next to the Vega science and technology park, in the former industrial area of ??Porto Marghera and occupies a key position, at the beginning of the Ponte di Libertà along the road axis in Venice. The area overlooks the Brentelle canal and the pavilion can also be reached by water. The structure is raised and sits on a large slab intended for parking. Its symmetrical shape is generated by curved intersecting rays and is externally defined by a white aluminum cladding set up to produce a pleated effect. The main entrance is located next to the roundabout that orders the traffic between via Pacinotti and via Ferraris. A white veranda, formed by a traction structure, leads to the wooden stairs and the two lateral escalators that lead to the exhibition floor. The opening inside is a single large room characterized by the white spatial frame of the ceiling supported by only four columns. The free and flexible exhibition space can host multiple events at the same time. The walls are facing in acoustic wood. Built for Aquae Venezia 2015, the exhibition dedicated to water at the same time as Expo Milano 2015, the building remains available to the city for fairs and exhibitions, cultural and sporting events
