The Palace of Culture of Caprarola (Palazzo della Cultura) is an environment made to measure for tourists and available to the community, a space dedicated to the dissemination of information on the territory and its resources, a tourist documentation and orientation center.
It is a functional, innovative and highly computerized youth center that houses a large multimedia and paper library, a video room that can accommodate up to 72 people, a multimedia room with 20 computers connected to the internet, spaces for laboratories , a tourist office, an exhibition area regarding the flora and fauna of the Vico Lake Nature Reserve, an ecomuseum consisting of dioramas within which there are faithful reproductions of the naturalistic environment of the reserve, of the life cycle of animals and plants. The whole structure is served by a free and available wi-fi connection and there is an outdoor area dedicated to relaxation.
An explosion of colors that coordinates a very specific tourist and communicative path, starting from the ground floor with the new signage, passing through a detailed history of Caprarola that wraps the stairways that lead to the first floor where the real treasure is found: the central hall dedicated to the tourist route with informative panels and display cases on the history, art, tradition and nature of Caprarola. We then move on to the video room dedicated to films shot in Caprarola inside which stands a free quote from Monicelli “Cinema does not produce art, it creates culture”.
The most innovative multimedia room and library appropriated Negroponte's phrase "The Internet is a weapon of mass education" to underline, even with special infographics, the importance of the advent of the Internet and the computer in society and in the transformation of culture Contemporary.
The building also houses a gym and a recording studio - rehearsal, mixing and sound editing room.
