Renzo Savini House Museum

THE RENZO SAVINI HOUSE MUSEUM was commissioned in 1964 to the architect Raoul Biancani, the Renzo Savini House Museum is one of the most interesting examples of contemporary architecture, developed on three levels, with a constant harmonic game between materials and windows.

Inside there is a rich selection of works assembled, over time, by the collector Renzo Savini, with a coherent and methodical desire to create a unicum between works and architectural elements of various eras.

A precious mix of artistic works, high craftsmanship and naturalistic finds. A place full of suggestions, where Savini lived with his family until his death. Renzo Savini (19 September 1931 - 13 July 2018) was a classically trained humanist. A great collector, he anticipated the times due to his sensitivity and with ingenuity he knew how to look for and combine objects, creating a mixture of materials and contrasts between different eras.

Inside the house there is a small Kunstkammer (literally "room of art"), in which artifacts of multiple and varied origins, artifacts and curiosities of all kinds are collected: pieces by Castiglioni, Gavina and Scarpa; statues of baroque cribs and puppets of the eighteenth century; Renaissance bas-reliefs set in the wall; ancient manuscripts and books; drawings by Tiarini and canvases by Signorini.

Dante Bini, world-famous architect, also known for having designed the futuristic villa on the Costa Paradiso in Sardinia for Michelangelo Antonioni and Monica Vitti, lived in the building on the floor below. Today the House Museum is managed by the daughters of Renzo Savini.
