Villa Revoltella in Trieste

Villa Revoltella in Trieste is a historic residence in a well-kept and well-loved park just outside the city center of Trieste. Villa Revoltella is a typical elegant villa with stables, private chapel, chaplain's residence, sole-oratory and concierge. It is located on the Farneto hill, a few steps from MIB Trieste, a prestigious School Management reality.

Summer residence designed by the architect Hitzig, the Villa and its park are part of the hereditary legacy of Baron Revoltella to the Municipality together with the more famous Palazzo Revoltella, which can also be visited, and which today also houses the Gallery of Modern Art.

Generous philanthropist and patron Pasquale Revoltella is a well-known figure in the city even if not everyone knows his story. Son of Venetian merchants, he arrived in Trieste in 1807 and began working as a messenger boy for a stock broker while in the evening, after work, he attended school classes.
