Castellaneta in the province of Taranto in Puglia is located in the heart of the area that constitutes the Terra delle Gravine regional natural park.
The first signs of human presence in the Castellano area date back to the Bronze Age (2000-1000 BC).
Numerous vases and other artifacts have been found in Minerva.
Other findings have been recorded on the summit of Montecamplo, an area engraved by caves and ravines, but also in Riva dei Tessali on the Ionian arch.
