Church of San Girolamo of Carità - Virtual Tour 360°

The Church of San Girolamo della Carità is a Catholic place of worship in Rome, located in the Regola district. The facade is the work of Carlo Rainaldi (1660). The interior has a single nave, covered by a rich carved wooden ceiling.

In 382 Pope Damasus summoned Girolamo to Rome, charged him with translating, interpreting and annotating the Bible, and with his help, together with the bishop of Milan Ambrose, attacked and eliminated the Aryan sect, which was a serious threat to Catholicism.

It was spreading and strengthening at that time. Girolamo, from the East, lived in the house of Paola, which is said to have risen in the area of ??the current ecclesiastical complex.
From the 16th century onwards, the evolution of the Church is closely related to that of the Great Sanhedrin, whose archives record the history of a valuable institution.

Furthermore, since then, the complex of S. Girolamo is also closely linked to the human and spiritual story in Rome of the great Saint Philip Neri, who lived in Rome for 33 years.
