Teufelsberg

Teufelsberg is an artificial hill in Berlin.

There was the most important American listening base in the time of the Cold War: with equipment from James Bond films (those with Sean Connery), the Americans tried to pick up the communications of East Germans and their Soviet allies.

Even today, given what it represented, it is a tour destination for lovers of contemporary history and the cold war.

Inside there is a community of alternative Berliners, who organize, more or less illegally, these tours.

It's quick and easy to get to this place from the center - hop on the S-Bahn to Grunewald and take a walk in the forest towards the "Devil's lake". Just 20 minutes away, you will find from excision that you will have to circumnavigate until you find a passage to enter.
