Mallorca Cathedral - Virtual Tour 360 °

Palma de Mallorca's landmark, La Seu, is located in the oldest part of the city opposite the Royal Palace of La Almudaina and the harbor.

Built in the Gothic style and dedicated to San Sebastian, patron saint of Palma, the Cathedral was built starting from 1230 where the main mosque originally stood and includes the Royal Chapel where the tombs of King James II and King James III are located.

The large central vault, 43 meters high, the 61 windows and the spectacular central rose window, one of the largest in the world 12 meters wide and composed of a thousand 236 pieces, through which the first light of dawn floods the building with beams of light colorful, make this majestic building a unique architectural spectacle, so much so that it is described as one of the most beautiful Gothic buildings in Europe.

The western wall of the cathedral was severely damaged during an earthquake in 1851. In the twentieth century, however, La Seu changed its face at the hands of the Catalan modernist architect Antoni Gaudi who added the canopy that dominates the altar. The cathedral, built entirely of sandstone blocks, reaches a height of 44 meters and covers an area of ??almost 7,000 square meters.
