Active since 1997, the Astronomical Observatory is located on Mount Zugna, at 1,620 meters above sea level, in an area not contaminated by light pollution.
The structure is managed by the Rovereto Civic Museum Foundation on behalf of the Municipality of the city of La Quercia. The favorable conditions and the equipment present make the structure suitable for carrying out both activities for a general public and research activities.
The Observatory has a dome of 4 meters in diameter in which there are 3 telescopes and is equipped with a solar telescope (coelostate), which allows you to observe the solar disk, its spots (if any) and the spectrum of light Of sun.
