Mediterranean Biodiversity Park

The Mediterranean Biodiversity Park is a green area that extends for 60 hectares in the heart of the city of Catanzaro.

The Park, inaugurated in 2004, is an ecosystem in which great varieties of flora and fauna coexist and is above all a multi-thematic system in which the naturalistic dimension is intertwined with the cultural, sporting and recreational one.

the rich botanical heritage of the park is representative of the most important local varieties of the Mediterranean flora: in fact, there are about 50,000 plants with which the area has been greened.

Together with the flora, characterized by a great variety of species, the fauna is also well represented in the Park: eagle owls, various specimens of parrots, eagles, crowned cranes, a Pollino griffon, specimens of lanner falcon and various species of ornithological interest.
