Caltavuturo Castle

The manor, now in a state of ruin, occupies an area of about 1000 square meters.

In addition to a cistern in the north-west area and some structures partially visible on the ground, only the perimeter walls remain, preserved for 7/10 m in height, and three towers: two rectangular and one semicircular.

The perimeter walls, 1.50 to 2 m thick, are made with shapeless or barely hewn limestone stones, cemented with mortar.

The cantonals are built with selected and well squared ashlars. The small consistency of the remains and the lack of documentary sources do not allow to follow the construction events of the artifact.

It is not possible to distinguish open spaces from closed ones; there is any evidence of it for the identification of the access door which, however, is likely to be hypothesized on the southern side.
