Collegium Russicum

The Collegium Russicum is a Catholic college in Rome dedicated to the studies of the culture and spirituality of Russia, as well as to the training of the Russian Catholic clergy.

It was founded on August 15, 1929 by Pope Pius XI, touched by the great influx of immigrants from the Bolshevik USSR and by the persecution of Christianity in that country.

The money for the college building and its construction was taken from a collection of donations from faithful from around the world, on the occasion of the canonization of St. Therese of Lisieux. In fact, its official name is ′ ′ Pontifical Russian College of Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus ".

Among his best-known former students is Blessed Theodore Romzha, who was murdered by the NKVD in the USSR.
