La Casaccia Cultural Artistic Center

The "La Casaccia" Cultural Artistic Center is an Association that has been operating in the cultural sector for over 40 years. Countless events held over the years have made the Center a privileged destination for those who love art and the world of culture in general.

The Association has a vast exhibition space in which monthly exhibitions are held that see artists of every cultural expression exhibit.
The Center annually organizes painting courses.

In addition to artistic activity, the Center also hosts other cultural expressions such as theater, literature and cinema.

The "La Casaccia" Cultural Art Center was formally born in 1971. Its history is, however, much older. Already at the end of the 1960s a group of young painter friends and sympathizers met at a venue on Corso Umberto to paint and talk about painting. In 1969 the group, which has now become more numerous, moved to the premises in via Municipio, which were called "La Casaccia". This denomination is due to the bad state in which the premises were. After a rapid "transformation" the place began to function as an artistic and cultural center that soon made headlines for the initiatives undertaken. The association was soon enriched by other worthy members. Soon other cultural associations approached Casaccia to offer or obtain collaboration. Among these the "amateur dramatics" of V.R. Cafueri who, continuing the tradition of the sacred representation of the “Passion and Death of N.S. Jesus Christ ”, obtained excellent popular acclaim in the area, using sets by some painters of the“ Casaccia ”. During these forty years, there have been numerous personal and collective, impromptu exhibitions and other events that have taken place. The “musical evenings”, poetry competitions, courses in literature, drawing, painting and ceramics have not been neglected.

Today the Center is experiencing a historical phase marked by the clear desire to open up towards all artistic expressions.
