Fieramilano of Rho and Pero

Fieramilano is the name of the suburban hub of the Milan Fair inaugurated in autumn 2005.

It is located in an area on the border between the municipalities of Rho and Pero, close to the A4 and A8 motorways, the West ring road and the Turin-Milan railway.

Fiera Milano Rho was created to replace part of the space of the old fair.

It is located a few kilometers from the old city fair (i.e. Fieramilanocity), but the area is much larger and well organized, being able to be reached thanks to the red line (M1 - Rho Fieramilano station) and the Turin-Milan railway line.

The exhibition complex was designed by Studio Fuksas.

The Fair is located on an area previously occupied by a refinery, owned by Eni, which was definitively closed in 1993.

The pavilions are organized around a main street, known as Corso Italia, which begins at the exit of the subway which, in addition to the exhibition areas, also overlooks cafes and meeting and refreshment points.

It is considered one of the most modern and important exhibition centers in Europe.

The site where the Expo 2015 pavilions were set up is located very close to the fair. The area, which was once occupied by former industrial production plants, has been redeveloped thanks to this extraordinary event.

Also not far from the fair was the Expo Village, or the accommodation facilities for staff, volunteers and representatives of the countries and exhibiting companies.

The construction of the Expo Village also included the renovation of the Merlata farmhouse.
