Carignano Theatre in Turin - Theater of the Princes of Carignano


The Carignano Theater, whose full name is Theater of the Princes of Carignano, it is the oldest theater in Turin (Piedmont - Italy), as well as one of the few eighteenth-century Italian theaters still in operation.

Owned by the city since 1932, it is a theater that originally only hosted comedies, unlike the Teatro Regio, which was intended to mainly host opera.

Some of the most famous names in the musical and theatrical panorama have taken turns on its stage, including Niccolò Paganini, Arturo Toscanini, Eleonora Duse, Vittorio Gassman, Dario Fo, Franca Nuti and it has made use of great directors and artistic directors, such as Luigi Pirandello, Nico Pepe and Luca Ronconi.
