The Giuditta Pasta Theater in Saronno was founded in 1990 by the will of the municipal administration of the city of Saronno. In 1988 the Municipality decided to renovate the ancient post station called "Casa Morandi" built in 1590 as a place of catering for pilgrims who went to visit the Sanctuary of the Beata Vergine dei Miracoli of Saronno.
The municipality intervened by saving the ancient ice house (the current Nevera room), creating the rooms of the Civic Library and, on the side, building a new theater which bears the name of the great Saronno opera singer Giuditta Pasta.
