National Archaeological Museum of Abruzzo at Villa Frigerj - Virtual Tour 360 °

The National Archaeological Museum of Abruzzo is a museum in Chieti, set up inside Villa Frigerj.

It houses an important Abruzzo archaeological collection that documents the culture of ancient Abruzzo from proto-history to the late imperial age, and a numismatic collection of coins from the fourth to the nineteenth century.

Since December 2014, the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities has managed it through the Abruzzo Museum Complex, which in December 2019 became the Regional Museum Directorate.

The museum is located in Villa Frigerj, a neoclassical style building built around 1830 by Baron Ferrante Frigerj to a design by Enrico Riccio.

The building was then sold to the Municipality of Chieti, which around the early twentieth century made it the seat of the "Ferdinando Galiani" Technical Institute, established in 1865.
