Rome Opera House

Born as a private theater in 1880, it was purchased by the Municipality of Rome only in 1926 by Mussolini's will.

The name then changed from Teatro Costanzi to Teatro Reale dell'Opera.

On this occasion the building was extensively renovated: the works were entrusted to the architect Marcello Piacentini.

In 1956 the Municipality of Rome entrusted Piacentini with the task of taking care of a new expansion and restoration project.
