The Post Office and Telegraphs Palaceof Rome Nomentano in Piazza Bologna, the former Italian District, was built by the architect Mario Ridolfi in 1933 - 35.
The construction of this post office, together with those of viale Mazzini, via Taranto and via Marmorata, was part of the development plan of the city, which provided for the decentralization of services in areas outside the historic core of the city, the works were directed by Mannajuolo company under the direction of the engineer Luigi Mellucci. In 1932 the competition for the construction of the work, announced by the Ministry of Communications, was won by the architect Mario Ridolfi.
The post office was inaugurated on October 28, 1935.
The building, characterized by its double curvature and the curtain cladding in travertine strips, represents one of the most interesting works of Italian rationalist architecture.
The building underwent modifications in 1976, the most radical in the public hall of the post office.
