The India Gate is a war memorial located in New Delhi. It was created to commemorate the 82,000 soldiers of the British Indian army who fell between 1914 and 1921 in the First World War and the Third Anglo-Afghan War.
Although it is a memorial, the India Gate recalls the architectural style of the triumphal arch, such as the Arch of Constantine in Rome or the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, with which it has often been compared.
