Ceramics Museum

The 20th century Ceramics Museum is located on the second and third floors of Palazzo Aiello 1825, an architectural jewel overlooking the main street, in the ancient heart of the town of Moliterno.

The second floor is dedicated to Vietri ceramics of the twentieth century, with particular attention to the great foreign and Italian artists including Gambone, Giovannino, the Procida brothers, etc. The top floor, dominated by a splendid two-mouth oven, hosts examples of Italian and European ceramics.

Any curiosity?

The donkey from Vietri is represented in at least 20 variants; the most poetic dish? The one with the black background attributed to Kovaliska; the most precious dish? Perhaps that of Gambone; the corner of the exemplary ceramic masks of particular suggestion, especially two by the artist D’Arienzo; the most beautiful model? San Giorgio killing the dragon by Matteo Di Lieto; the ceramic panel of the baptism of Christ by the Procida Brothers has a particular material effect.
