San Teodoro Parish was founded in the town of the same name in the province of Sassari in the 18th century by the Kingdom of Savoy and Bishop Francesco Ignazio Guiso, Bishop of the Diocese of Ampurias and Civita. In the 1950s the Catholic church of San Teodoro was renovated, also moving the previously adjoining cemetery. A further expansion was carried out in the mid-1970s, rededicating the Theodore chapel still visible today.
This was also made possible by a great admirer of San Teodoro, Brianza senator and businessman Walter Fontana. On the occasion of the Jubilee Holy Year 2000, the wooden door in the shape of an open book, made by a master carpenter from inland Gallura, was added.
