Ca Tron - Citta di Roncade

History
Numerous findings testify to a strong human presence in the area since ancient times. In 2003, for example, the remains of a wooden bridge dating back to 3,000-3,200 years ago were found along the route of the ancient Via Annia: this important discovery proves that the road existed, and therefore the civilized area, already in pre-paleoveneta era.

The locality, formerly a fief of the Collalto, was formerly known as Cal di Meolo because a road passed through it that led, in fact, to the nearby Meolo. In the 16th century, the land in the area was purchased by the patrician Tron family, who set up a farm there.

The ancient estate, around which the town was built, has now evolved into a large farm (1,100 ha) managed by Cattolica Assicurazioni. In 1935 the parish was established, separating the territory from San Cipriano and Musestre.
