The Cenacolo di Sant'Apollonia

The Cenacolo di Sant'Apollonia is a museum in Florence: it was formerly part of the homonymous complex, with access from via XXVII Aprile.

Since December 2014, the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities has been managing it through the Tuscany Museum Complex, which in December 2019 became the Regional Directorate for Museums.

The monastery was founded in 1339 and after 1440 the abbess Cecilia Donati promoted a series of modernization and enlargement works of the structure.

The cloister and the cenacle were then enlarged, a large rectangular room with a coffered ceiling and a series of windows on the right wall, frescoed on an entire wall by Andrea del Castagno in 1447.
