Sipari Palace is a historic civil building in Pescasseroli (AQ), linked to the Sipari family and to the philosopher Benedetto Croce. The house museum of the same name is housed in the building.
The palace stands on the site of a baronial palace owned until 1838 by the Massa di Sorrento family, feudal lords of Pescasseroli. Pietrantonio Sipari, exponent of the new herd bourgeoisie of the place, bought from them what remained of the ancient structure; in place of him, not having wanted to conclude the auction purchase of the ducal palace of Alvito, he decided to build the present structure, whose works ended in 1839.
Since then the building has been inhabited until 2006 by the Sipari family, when the last owner, the Marquise Maria Cristina Sipari, second child of the deputy Erminio Sipari, grandson of Pietrantonio, disappeared. On February 25, 1866, the well-known philosopher Benedetto Croce was born on the second floor.
It is now a House Museum managed by the Erminio E Zel Sipari Onlus Foundation.
