Gondi Palace


Known since the 7th century, they were soldiers, traders, goldbeats and finally bankers in the Renaissance. In the last century the Gondi have focused on agricultural and tourist activities, giving a new life to their properties and products of the highest level.

Ancient noble Florentine family of which we have news since the times of Charlemagne, who armed knights the Consorteria dei Filippi from which the Gondi descend. The Philippi were placed in Heaven in the Divine Comedy, by Dante Alighieri, as the oldest family in Florence.

They were Podestà and Priors of the Florentine Republic, traders, goldbeaters, bankers and ambassadors under the Medici and in France they held very important political positions with the two Medici Queens.
