The city of Ribera is situated on a vast plain 230 m above sea level. It overlooks the Mediterranean Sea at the southern center of Sicily.
It is a municipality in the Province of Agrigento and can be reached by driving along the S.S. 115 from Trapani to Syracuse.
Particular is the geographical position of the city positioned between two rivers Magazzolo and Verdura that marks the boundaries with the municipalities of Sciacca and Caltabellotta to the west, while the Platani River marks the boundaries with the territory of the municipality of Cattolica Eraclea.
The soils are very fertile thanks to the presence of the two rivers and the typical Mediterranean climate. A lush territory covered by Mediterranean scrub where the renowned Ribera Oranges are produced, which have obtained the D.O.P denomination recognized worldwide. The climate is "Mediterranean" with average temperatures of 26°-28° C in spring, while on hot summer days temperatures can reach 42° C.
