Concina Villa

Seat of the municipal library.

Villa Concina was built in the 1700s and greatly remodeled over the centuries, to gradually adapt it to the different needs of the owners.

The information on Villa Concina is rather scarce and limited to a few documents, among which the Napoleonic Cadastre of 1809 which mentions it as a "Guard house" should be mentioned. The rather simple layout consists of two floors according to an articulation of the space that is typical of Venetian palaces, with a central hall and side rooms.

The main elevations are emphasized by the lowered arched balcony of the main floor and the central elevation with a triangular tympanum, the latter taken up in the side facades.
An architecturally interesting element is the presence of a central balcony with a three-light opening, of a seventeenth-century character.

The side turrets are instead of late manufacture and probably used for service functions (bathroom and closet).

Ida Concina was responsible for the first cadastral report in 1940, while her nephew Alberto Sgaravatti for the sale of the villa to the Municipality of Dolo in 1982. The villa was purchased by the Municipality of Dolo together with the adjacencies (barchesse and terraced houses) which are partly been restored. The park was restored by the public body and opened to the community.

Since 2000 it has housed the municipal library.
