The Casino for Nobles "Casino per Nobili" was based in the building above the sub-portico which is located in the Campo di San Barnaba.
The casini were small apartments, or even just rooms, where a certain company met, especially at night, for the most varied purposes: dancing, dinners, music, but above all gambling.
There were all levels and for all social classes scattered around the city.
Some of these little houses, especially in the eighteenth century, were very refined places, full of gold and stucco. In our specific case, however, it was a rather poor casino, as its patrons were the poor nobles who lived there, that is, the Barnabotti.
In the porch there is a capital in white stone with a grate that protects the image of San Gabriele dell'Addolorata, as shown in the writing below.
