Campo Santa Margherita is a field in Venice, located in the Dorsoduro district.
The toponym refers to the deconsecrated church of Santa Margherita, located at the north eastern end of the field.
The current appearance is due to the interventions of the second half of the nineteenth century decreed by the Austro-Hungarian authorities which led, for hygienic reasons, to the burial of some streams.
Before 1863 the field respected the typical pattern of other Venetian mercantile fields, delimited to the south by a waterway formed by the Rio della Scoazzera, connected to the Rio di San Barnaba by the Rio di Ca 'Canal.
The field is known because it is a traditional youth meeting place due to its proximity to the IUAV, Ca 'Foscari and various higher schools.
Added to this is the short distance from the railway station, from Piazzale Roma and from several places of monumental interest.
