This church with a particular facade halfway between a typical Gothic church and a building with a loggia on the facade is located in Montefiascone in the province of Viterbo.
Built in 1300 on the remains of an ancient Romanesque church, it had a particular position because it was located on the confluence point of various Roman roads, including the Francigena street.
The explanatory sign tells that here is the tombstone of Defuk ... a German nobleman who settled in Montefiascone for the good quality of his wine and legend has it that he died precisely because of excessive consumption.
