Antica Distilleria Di Altavilla-Museo della grappa

Started in 1846 by Filippo Mazzetti, the family distillery business has been handed down from father to son until today through six generations.

Every year, in fact, the Antica Distilleria di Altavilla brings together the best pomace from Monferrato, which gives rise to an equal number of single-varietal grappas.

Made from the freshest pomace and distilled in steam stills, after careful and painstaking discarding of heads and tails, the grappas are kept for several years in fine oak barrels and cherry, chestnut, almond and French oak barriques
until a complete harmony of taste and aroma is achieved, keeping the floral and fruity notes intact.

They are the result of a production process handed down with passion and wisdom to the current owner, Filippo Mazzetti together with his wife Laura and sons Fabrizio and Alessandro.

The Grappa Museum, in the Antica Distilleria di Altavilla owned by the Mazzetti family, collects and exhibits in the historic premises, evidence of the distilling activity carried out by the same family for six generations. It can be visited year-round by reservation.

In October and November it is also possible to witness live the production of our fine grappas.
