Antonio Calderara Collection Museum

The Antonio Calderara Collection was born thanks to the acquisitions and exchanges that the Master made with his contemporary artists, linked to him by relationships of esteem and friendship or research affinity.

So he composed what he wanted to call with simplicity and modesty "The story of Antonio Calderara and a choice of contemporary artists his friends", consisting of 327 works of painting and sculpture - of which 56 by his own hand and 271 by different European artists, Americans, Japanese and Chinese.

It was the Master, aware of the enormous value of his collection, who opened the doors of his home-studio inside a beautiful seventeenth-century building in Vacciago di Ameno, a small town on the eastern shore of Lake Orta.
