Khan Palace or Hansaray


The Khan Palace or Hansaray is located in the city of Bachčysaraj in the Crimea. It was built in the 16th century and became the home of the Crimean Khans. The walled enclosure contains a mosque, a harem, a cemetery, a neighborhood and gardens. The interior of the palace has been decorated to appear lived in and reflects the traditional Crimean Tatar style of the 16th century.

It is one of the best known Muslim palaces in Europe, next to Topkapı Palace, Dolmabahçe Palace, Yıldız Palace, Aynalikavak Palace, Edirne Palace, ÇıraÄŸan Palace in Turkey and the Alhambra in Spain.
