Chivasso

Chivasso (Civass in Piedmontese) is an Italian town of 26 908 inhabitants, located in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont, about 20 km northeast of the Piedmontese capital.

Between the 12th and 14th centuries, the town was the capital of the Marquisate of Monferrato, before the court was transferred to Casale; however, to this day it is not considered a geographical part of Monferrato, although it is historically part of it, but is referred to as "The Gateway to Canavese," a region of which it is also the most populous center.
