Before being the art of combining ingredients, before being traditional, pop, nouvelle, molecular or gourmet, cooking is a physical place. On the kitchen table we did our homework as children, we drew and scattered photographs. Around that table we planned a trip or we played risiko at Christmas. On it we gathered the pieces of a broken vase to revive it, we wrote our degree thesis and we read the newspaper every morning. Sitting at the table we animatedly discussed politics, we looked for solutions to seemingly insurmountable problems.
We celebrated there. And each of those times, in each of those days, there was food. Marta in Cucina is for us that table that we set with dishes resulting from discussions, beliefs and personal stories, experiments and study. Dishes on a table as experiences to share, where anyone who sits down adds their own.
