The Basilica of Santa Maria in Via Lata is a Catholic place of worship in Rome, in the Pigna district. The church is located in via del Corso, the ancient via Lata, hence the attribute of the church.
Tradition states that Paul of Tarsus lived in this place under house arrest pending trial; a similar affirmation, however, is also made for the church of San Paolo alla Regola.
